Wenkai Li 李文楷

Hi! My name is Wenkai Li. I am a grad student at Steward Observatory working with Prof. Kate Alexander.

My journey began in amateur astronomy, culminating in a shortlisting for Astronomy Photographer of the Year¹ and solidifying my research ambitions.

I am interested in a wide range of astrophysical phenomena, currently focusing on tidal disruption events, intermediate-mass black holes, post-starburst galaxies, survey forecasts, and active galactic nuclei.

My goal is to become a “versatile astronomer,” skilled in observation, theory, simulation, and instrumentation.

My undergrad research was mentored by Prof. Ning Jiang in Prof. Tinggui Wang’s group at USTC, and by Prof. Ann Zabludoff at Steward Observatory.
